In a continuing effort to keep the �԰����� community safe during the pandemic, �԰����� will virtually confer degrees to its December graduates on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020. Graduates and their families can watch the ceremonies live on at 10 a.m.

“Postponing in-person commencement ceremonies is not what we wanted to do, but it is the right thing to do,” says �԰����� President Danny Anderson. “Instead, we are planning a memorable virtual conferral of degrees presentation that will be a celebration of our graduates’ accomplishments during these extraordinary times.”

“�԰����� is profoundly disappointed that we cannot share this joy together, in person, but we concluded that we are not able to guarantee the health and safety of our graduates, their families, and the �԰����� community,” Anderson continues.

Graduates will have the opportunity to submit photos and videos to personalize the virtual event. Anderson, and Deneese Jones, �԰����� vice president for Academic Affairs, will address the approximately 118 bachelor and master graduates, their families, and �԰����� faculty, staff, and friends.

“While it’s regrettable that we must celebrate remotely, it gives our graduates the ability to include friends and family that might not otherwise be able to attend the service in person,”  Anderson explains. “I am thankful for the creativity that the University’s Commencement Committee has once again invested in ensuring special recognition for our graduates.”
