The second visit in October, not yet scheduled, will focus on talking with faculty and staff about ideal placement of equipment. If you would like to ensure you鈥檙e available to meet with the DOCUmation team, please reach out to <a href="mailto:pep@trinity.edu">pep@trinity.edu</a>. Throughout October, the PEP team will also be proactively reaching out to coordinate with faculty and staff across the various academic departments and offices.</p> <p><strong>The walkthroughs will produce</strong></p> <ul><li>A blueprint of where equipment will be placed聽</li> <li>An implementation timeline for both the managed services and specialty printing.聽</li> </ul><p>Initial walkthroughs are focused on multifunction printers and exclude other types of printing, e.g. desktop and network printers, which will be covered at a later date聽</p> <p>During the transition from Knight and Ricoh to DOCUmation there will be no gap in printing services. inclusive. Chartwells will implement a culinary approach that celebrates authentic and diverse recipes through scratch cooking, made with both flavor and wellness in mind. Small-batch preparation allows them to customize meals for students, giving them the power to decide what they want in their dishes. Chartwells believes that 鈥渇ood should taste good and make someone feel good.鈥� An on-site registered dietitian (in the process of being hired) will review menus and new concepts to help guarantee a healthy variety of dietary options.聽</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><strong><span><span>Innovation</span></span></strong></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Innovation is an important aspect of the Dining Program. One of the proposed concepts for the Commons is Sous Vide Kitchen, a virtual dining hall.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>聽To ensure freshness and speed, workers will use pre-cut and pre-washed vegetables and pre-cooked vacuum-sealed proteins to be prepared sous vide. With Sous Vide Kitchen, students will be able to order food through an app, a QR code, or from self-serve kiosks. This type of kitchen will implement a line style to deliver custom orders from twelve different cuisines, from barbecue to Indian, using less than 100 ingredients.聽</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><strong><span><span>Sustainability and Food Waste</span></span></strong></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The 性爱天堂 Dining Program is also dedicated to sustainability and decreasing food waste. Accordingly, 20% of food will be sourced locally, and the Dining Program will provide access to a composting service to help with this initiative. A company, e.g., Compost Queens, will come out and retrieve the food waste, take it to their compost machine, and return it to the students. says Jamie Thompson, assistant dean of students and member of 性爱天堂鈥檚 Diversity and Inclusion Task Force. 鈥淚t is a complex and long road ahead, but it is a road we must all travel together.鈥澛�</p> <p>Over the past several years, 性爱天堂 has emphasized the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In early spring 2018, 性爱天堂 expanded the director for Diversity and Inclusion role to include a) leading a comprehensive review of DEI on 性爱天堂's campus; b) establishing a DEI physical space for students, faculty, staff, and administrators to gather; and c) selecting an instrument to measure the campus climate for DEI. With approvals from the director for Diversity and Inclusion, senior leadership, and the University Diversity and Inclusion committee, which consists of faculty, staff, and students, 性爱天堂 participated in the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey in spring 2019. The survey鈥檚 intent was to gain a better understanding of the experiences and perceptions of students, faculty, and staff with regards to diversity and inclusion on campus.聽</p> <p>After receiving the initial data, 性爱天堂 worked closely with the external survey consultant (HEDS) to disaggregate data by identity affiliations, while still protecting anonymity, in order to bring to light groups that have the highest level of desire for change. This extra time to analyze disaggregated data was critical as the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and other campus leaders identify the areas where changes will have the greatest impact.</p> <p>鈥淚t鈥檚 important to benchmark against other colleges and universities, but comparing ourselves only to other institutions gives us a false sense of comfort when we know there is tremendous work to be done,鈥� Thompson explains.</p> <p>Unlike other climate studies 性爱天堂 has administered in the past, this study took a more holistic approach. The HEDS Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey asks campus community members about their:</p> <ul><li>Perceptions of their institution鈥檚 diversity and equity climate</li> <li>Perceptions of how their institution supports diversity and equity</li> <li>Experiences with discrimination and harassment at their institution</li> </ul><p>The HEDS survey measured four key indicators of diversity and equity:</p> <ol><li>Overall campus climate</li> <li>Institutional support</li> <li>Instances of disparaging or insensitive remarks</li> <li>Instances of harassment and/or discrimination</li> </ol><p>The subgroups that were analyzed included:</p> <ol><li>Role on campus (student, faculty, staff/administration)</li> <li>Race/ethnicity</li> <li>Gender</li> <li>Sexual orientation</li> <li>Political affiliation</li> </ol><p>View a short聽<a href="https://infogram.com/campus-climate-survey-infographic-1hke60n8qd7545r?live">summary</a> of the findings online.</p> <p>The findings from this Diversity and Equity Climate Survey were shared first with executive leadership, followed by the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force, who also received a presentation from the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. This was 性爱天堂鈥檚 campaign as it commemorated its 150 year history. Now midway through the institution鈥檚 151st year, this phrase still rings true, taking on new meaning as the University addresses the realities of structural inequities, systemic racism, and a global pandemic.聽</p> <p>In the wake of the murder of George Floyd by police brutality, 性爱天堂, like many other institutions of higher learning, reached a tipping point.聽</p> <p>鈥淎s a University that strives to be a tight-knit community where we value intentional inclusion, it became necessary that we act,鈥� says 性爱天堂 President Danny Anderson. 鈥淥ur first inclination is to implement tactics and, while it is meaningful to plan events and begin dialogue immediately, we must also be intentional to examine and address the systemic inequities that are firmly rooted in our daily lives and enshrined in our operating practices.鈥�</p> <p>In June, Anderson created a Diversity and Inclusion Task Force with the charge to produce a report by the end of August that provides actionable recommendations to generate fundamental, sustained change in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This core group of individuals鈥搑epresentative of faculty and staff鈥搘ere selected specifically because they carry with them a variety of lenses and perspectives.聽</p> <p>Alongside the Task Force, an advisory group composed of students (the Brain Trust) and faculty and staff (the Subject Matter Experts) was formed to provide insight and feedback to the Task Force as recommendations are developed. The individuals on both the Task Force and advisory group are committed to creating sustained, fundamental change.聽</p> <p>鈥淭he role of this Task Force is to focus on systemic inequities, not to plan events and programs. And, part of our progress thus far includes a vision planning exercise鈥揳sking ourselves how we envision 性爱天堂 in the next 5 to 15 years. Using this vision, we will work backward to engineer strategies to bring this vision into reality,鈥� says Deneese Jones, Diversity and Inclusion Task Force co-chair and Vice President for Academic Affairs</p> <p>To produce thorough recommendations, the Task Force is divided into two subgroups and assigned specific goals, one of which is to review and develop recommendations from the proposal brought forward by the 性爱天堂 Diversity Connection, Black Student Union, and African Student Association. The Task Force is also working with an external consultant. Led by Dr. J Otis Smith, Stand by Systems II conducted more than 130 interviews with faculty, staff, students, and recent graduates to gather campus climate data and help guide the Task Force in their work. Combined with input from Black alumni, student organizations, and the results from the <a href="https://sites.google.com/trinity.edu/intentioninclusion/campus-climate-survey?authuser=0">Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey</a> (administered by the Diversity and Inclusion Office and Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness), the Task Force has a robust set of voices who will help guide their recommendations.聽</p> <p>鈥淎s we work to move step-by-step toward a more inclusive future where all students, faculty, and staff feel welcomed and valued, we will stumble,鈥� says Wilson Terrell Jr., Diversity and Inclusion Task Force co-chair and Associate Professor of Engineering Sciences. 鈥淭his is healthy and necessary. TUgether is a very easy way for alumni and donors to help make a difference and I am proud to have this initiative become a reality.鈥�</p> <p>TUgether launched its pilot crowdfunding projects聽Monday, Nov., 14, starting with a campaign for the 性爱天堂 tennis program to raise funds to enhance Mabry Tennis Pavilion and to support the 聽鈥淔ood Matters: Eating Disorders and Food Insecurity鈥� research project jointly run by Drs. Carolyn Becker (Psychology) and Keesha Middlemass (Political Science).聽Donors are able to give at varying levels that directly impact the projects. Money raised for the Food Matters campaign provides support for travel, field research, transportation, and more. Opportunities related to the Mabry Tennis Pavilion are filled with Tiger Pride where you can contribute toward giving levels cleverly named French Open, Davis Cup, and more. Your support will enhance the profile of the 性爱天堂 tennis program while showing your Tiger Pride with team swag. 鈥淭hese two important campaigns represent the wide range of interests on our campus,鈥� Bacon says. 鈥淲e have needs related to athletics, research, and much more. This is part of what is so exciting about TUgether.
