Congratulations to all 2018 Mellon SURFs on their summer research achievements and the outstanding posters and presentations produced and showcased at last week’s 13th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference. This summer, research interests extended from environmental (understanding electronic waste) to artistic/scientific (creation of an artistic microbial palette) to social—including a forum theatre project that aimed to highlight stigmatizing experiences for people receiving HIV and AIDS testing and treatment in San Antonio—to historical (publishing a corpus of Ancient Near Eastern seals), among many others. Several projects are slated to be presented at upcoming conferences, published as book chapters, open-access books, or published in journals, deployed as websites, or performed outside San Antonio. Well done everyone!
