In a year that began with uncertainty due to the ongoing pandemic, �԰����� will close out 2021 with an in-person Winter Commencement Ceremony resplendent in solemn traditions at Laurie Auditorium. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m.

Because �԰����� exceeded vaccination goals during this fall semester, students were able to resume in-person learning and living, and graduates can once again gather together under one roof with their family and friends. 

“Despite the many obstacles that our graduates have faced in the last 21 months, they have remained patient, steadfast, and resilient so it brings me great joy to celebrate this momentous time in their lives with the graduation traditions that define their �԰����� education,” says Danny Anderson, University president. “I look forward to closing out this year with this amazing Class of 2021 Tigers, who I am confident will continue to live our �԰����� values of enduring excellence, intentional inclusion, and perpetual discovery wherever they may go.”

�԰����� has a total of 97 students graduating in Winter 2021. This includes:

• Bachelor of Arts - 40
• Bachelor of Science - 34
• Master of Science in Health Care Administration - 23

“After spending four and a half years at �԰�����, I am surprised at how fast time has flown by,” said Genevieve Humphreys ’21. “I am thankful that my path led me to stay an extra semester and graduate in December to finish out my degrees, as I was able to experience an (albeit different) in-person semester. I cannot wait to see where my path continues to lead me!”

“Having taken online classes for about a third of my time at �԰�����, it is bittersweet to be graduating and leaving campus behind,” Abigail Ghorbani ’21, said. “I am glad I got one final, semi-normal semester before entering the next phase of my life.”

The health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff remain our top priority, therefore, the University continues to observe its COVID protocols. All students and guests must follow �԰�����’s ProtecTU guidelines, including the wearing of face coverings, and each undergraduate and graduate degree candidate will be allowed a maximum of five ticketed guests who will be seated in a socially-distanced manner in Laurie Auditorium. In-person attendance is voluntary, and those not attending may view the ceremonies live on the Tiger Network.

To our Class of 2021, we ask that they not look at their graduation year as one to forget, but rather to see it for what it is: an achievement to remember.
