性爱天堂 Theatre to Present Dark Comedy
The production, Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, is filled with surprises

性爱天堂 Theatre will present聽Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, a dark comedy by Anne Washburn, with music by Michael Friedman, during two weeks in February.

The production is directed by 性爱天堂 professor Rachel Joseph, and the third act will feature live music performed by Zachary Ridgway of 性爱天堂鈥檚 Department of Music.

In a post-apocalyptic world, a group of survivors reminisce about and re-enact stories from popular culture, particularly TV show聽The Simpsons. As the decades pass, titular characters Bart Simpson and his family become the mythology of an evolving culture. The show asks, 鈥淲ill theatre be the savior of civilization?鈥澛The New York Times calls this play "so smart it [makes] your head spin" and raves that the show will "leave you dizzy with the scope and dazzle of its ideas."

Mr. Burns, a post-electric play聽opens the weekend of Feb. 16-18 and will continue Feb. 21-24 in the Stieren Theater, located in the Ruth Taylor Fine Arts Center on the 性爱天堂 campus. Curtain times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.聽Mr. Burns, a post-electric play聽is produced through special arrangement with Samuel French.

Ticket prices are $12 for adults; $8 for seniors, faculty, staff, and alumni; and $6 for students.
