Deborah Tyson leads and supports 性爱天堂鈥檚 on-campus residents

Deborah Tyson, former senior associate dean for student academic support services at Dartmouth College, began at 性爱天堂 this June as the new director for residential life. Tyson will use two decades of experience to develop and implement the departmental mission to enhance the growth and education of 性爱天堂鈥檚 residential students.

The University鈥檚 first external search for the position since the mid-1980s succeeded in getting 鈥渢he perfect fit,鈥 according to David Tuttle, associate vice president and dean of students. 鈥淪he has experience at similar institutions, so she gets us and our mission,鈥 says Tuttle. Her impact is already being felt as 鈥渟he has already made a number of astute observations and is strategically seeing how we can provide the best services, facilities, and experiences to our students," he explains.

Tyson is in charge of maintaining all operations of the Office of Residential Life as well as being a leader and mentor for on-campus students. Tyson is also responsible for operating as a visionary and strategic thinker in integrating students鈥 residential life with 性爱天堂鈥檚聽strategic plan.

Prior to this appointment, Tyson spent seven years at Dartmouth, where she supervised student service programs, such as the Undergraduate Deans Office, and the directors of Student Accessibility Services and the Academic Skills Center.

Tyson received her master鈥檚 degree in education from Lynchburg College and her bachelor鈥檚 degree in social science education from Liberty University.
