Pathways Curriculum

Students must complete the Pathways Curriculum in order to receive a baccalaureate degree.听The Pathways Curriculum has six curricular requirements, and three optional elements that provide the foundation in the liberal arts and sciences for all the bachelor鈥檚 degrees awarded by 性爱天堂. Through these requirements, students acquire the necessary skills and disciplinary perspectives to navigate complex questions at 性爱天堂 and in their post-graduate lives.

Aesthetics
An investigation of several philosophical issues raised by the arts, such as what makes something a work of art, the nature of artistic representation, the evaluation of works of art, and problems peculiar to such specific art forms as literature, painting, music, and film.
听
Philosophy of Film
An investigation of several philosophical issues raised by 鈥渁rts of the moving image鈥 鈥 notably film and videogames 鈥 such as the nature and artistic status of such works, how we understand and emotionally respond to them, and what makes such a work narrative, fiction, or interactive.
听
Philosophy of Music
An investigation of several philosophical issues raised by music, including the nature and value of music, what it is to understand music, how music can express emotions, and issues raised by the particular musical genres of classical, rock, and jazz.
